More halibut fishing pictures from the 2000 season and previous seasons.

  7/3/00 A great day fishing out in the Gulf.  Kept 13 Halibut from 100#/60" to 175#/74".  Estimated weight 1,800 pounds of halibut.  Released dozens of smaller halibut from 40 to 90#.

8/23/00 A good day out in the Gulf.  Nine  Halibut including 190#/73", 177#/71", and 191#/74", Three Ling Cod to 48#, Ten Red Snapper. Estimated weight 1,300# of fish.  Caught by Joe Green, Philip Brower,Steve, Bruce, and ?.  Joe Green caught the 190#, 191# halibut, and the 48# Ling Cod. Philip Brower caught the 177# halibut.

8/8/00 Four big halibut: 280#/87" (the second biggest halibut in Valdez during 2000), also 160#/67", and two 150#/65".   Also landed three Ling Cod and 12 Red Snapper.  The 280# halibut was caught by Kelly McGovern (biggest halibut ever landed on Orion Charters).  According to the International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) length to weight table an 87" halibut live weight should be 363#.
